Supervision, Mentoring & Networking
A good part of my work takes place through supervising and evaluating students’ research (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate) both at UNIFR and with other universities.
Mentoring is sorely needed in academic contexts. I try to help as I’m able, passing on some of my teaching and research experience to younger scholars.
Academic networking allows scholars to share their research and receive feedback. I’m a member of various academic societies:
British New Testament Society (co-chair of the Acts seminar)
Society of Biblical Literature
Association catholique française pour l’étude de la Bible (ACFEB)
Réseau des narratologues francophones (RéNaF)
Herodotus Helpline (research network)

Teaching and Preaching in Church contexts
My vocation as a scholar-minister involves keeping a balance between teaching in academic and church contexts. I serve as a curate at St Ursula’s Church in Bern.
I also enjoy preaching and teaching in other churches and groups.

I have received so much from teachers and colleagues in the USA, Italy, Belgium, Niger, and Switzerland. What I have received, I try to pass on to my students. It doesn’t belong to me.
